At EvolutionIQ, we’re fortunate to meet incredibly talented people who are excited about building meaningful AI technology and doing work that has real-world impact. As our team continues to grow, we often get asked the same question by prospective candidates: “What can I do to prepare and put my best foot forward in the interview process?”

The good news is that there’s no secret formula. We’re not looking for rehearsed answers or polished perfection. We’re looking for thoughtful, curious, motivated people who care about their craft and want to help us build something special.

1. Spend Time Understanding What We Do

Before your interview, take a little time to understand EvolutionIQ’s mission, product, and the problems we solve. We work at the intersection of AI, insurance, and claims guidance, helping claims teams make better, faster, and more accurate decisions, and helping claimants at a critical juncture.

You do not need to become an expert in insurance before speaking with us, but it does help when candidates come in with a basic understanding of:

  • Who our customers are
  • The kinds of problems we solve
  • Why our work matters

The strongest candidates usually connect their own experience back to our mission and can articulate why our space is interesting to them. You can also check out our careers page to learn more: https://www.evolutioniq.com/about

2. Review the Job Description and Be Ready With Specific Examples

This sounds simple, but it makes a huge difference. Read the role carefully and think about how your experience aligns with what the team is actually hiring for.

During interviews, be prepared to share specific examples of:

  • Projects you’ve led or contributed to
  • Problems you’ve solved or decisions you’ve made
  • Measurable outcomes you’ve driven

Specificity is always more compelling than generalities. Instead of saying, “I’m great at stakeholder management,” walk us through a real example of how you navigated competing priorities, aligned a team, or influenced a decision.

3. Review Interviewers’ LinkedIn Profiles Ahead of Time

One of the best ways to prepare is to review your interviewers’ LinkedIn profiles in advance.

This helps you understand:

  • Their backgrounds
  • How they may be connected to the role or team
  • What perspectives they might bring to the conversation

It can also help you ask stronger questions and build a more natural conversation. You may find shared experiences, similar companies, technical overlap, or clues about what they care most about in their work.

A little preparation here goes a long way and shows genuine interest.

4. Know Your Resume Well and Be Ready to Go Deeper

Anything on your resume is fair game in an interview. Be prepared to go beyond the headline and talk through the context, challenges, tradeoffs, and results behind your experience.

For example, if you mention that you “scaled a team,” be ready to explain:

  • How large the team was
  • What stage the company was in
  • What challenges came with growth, what your role specifically was
  • What changed because of your work

We love talking to candidates who have strong self-awareness and can clearly explain their own contributions.

5. Come Prepared With Thoughtful Questions

Great interviews are conversations, not interrogations. Candidates who ask thoughtful questions tend to leave a strong impression because it shows they are evaluating the opportunity with care and intention.

Some of the best questions are about:

  • Team structure and collaboration
  • What success looks like in the role
  • Company priorities and challenges
  • How decisions get made
  • What differentiates top performers at EvolutionIQ

The best questions are usually the ones that help you determine whether this is the right fit for you, too.

6. Be Authentic: We’re Hiring People, Not Perfect Interview Performers

One of the most underrated interview tips is simply this: be yourself.

You do not need to have every answer perfectly scripted. It is completely okay to pause, think through a question, or talk honestly about a challenge you faced and what you learned from it. Authenticity, curiosity, humility, and strong communication matter a lot.

We’re building teams with people who are collaborative, thoughtful, and motivated by impact. We’re not looking for candidates who have memorized the “right” interview responses. We’re looking for people who can bring their own experiences, perspective, and energy to the table.

Final Thoughts

Interviewing is a two-way process. Of course we’re evaluating skills and experience, but just as importantly, we want candidates to get a real feel for who we are, how we work, and whether EvolutionIQ is the kind of place where they can thrive.

If you’re interested in joining us, prepare thoughtfully, be specific, do a bit of homework on the people you’ll meet, and come ready to have a genuine conversation.

We’re always excited to meet talented people who want to do meaningful work and help us build for the future. Right now, we have over a wide range of roles that are recruiting for. Get in touch if you think one of them is right for you.
